Alexander Coles
Catchment Officer – Science and PartnershipsAlexander is the Catchment Officer for Rother, Romney, Cuckmere and Pevensey at SERT. He has a long association with and love for rivers, growing up on the banks of the River Kennet in Wiltshire. Watching the Kennet suffer from over-extraction inspired him to pursue a solutions-focussed career to wildlife and habitat restoration.
He has a Bsc in Zoology, MRes in Landscape Management and an MSc in Sustainability, where he focussed on systems thinking and conflict resolution. He has years of event management experience in both commercial and charitable sectors, chairing the board of trustees for Transition Bath for two years before moving to Sussex.
Alexander enjoys reading and walking outside of work and volunteers for a number of charities. He has two cats, of whom he is extremely proud, although they don’t share his interest in rivers or reading.
