Isobel has a background in freshwater ecology, and completed a PhD working on freshwater mussel ecology and conservation. She previously worked as a scientist supporting large-scale nature restoration projects to monitor the effectiveness of restoration interventions.

Isobel is also a keen whitewater kayaker, and loves spending her time in and around rivers.
