Cacey Cottrill
Eden Catchment & Cluster Officer – Science and PartnershipsCacey works as the Eden Catchment and Cluster Officer, focusing on the River Eden catchment area and the Eden Valley Farm Cluster project.
She has a broad background in conservation and restoration, obtaining a BSc in Environmental Studies in Biology, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management & Assessment, back in Canada. She has done environmental monitoring and conservation work across a broad swath of ecosystems, from the boreal forest of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, to the alvar plains in Central Ontario. Most recently, she led a dry tropical forest restoration project in Mauritius for four years, working with multiple stakeholders and critically endangered plant species on a remote island.
When not getting her hands dirty for restoration and conservation, she can be found hiking, kayaking, learning new plants and reading. Sometimes combining all these while completing another long-distance hike in Scotland - planning for number six soon!
