Kostas Stavrianakis
Development Lead – Working with CommunitiesAs an Environmental Social Scientist, Kostas has an interdisciplinary academic and professional background in both the social and natural sciences. He has worked extensively in public engagement and consultation, with a strong focus on helping organisations understand communities and make informed decisions. Throughout his career, he has worked to create meaningful dialogue between stakeholders, supporting evidence-based planning and fostering inclusive participation.
He is particularly interested in human–nature interactions and how engagement with natural environments support individual and community wellbeing. He is keen to apply his experience to environmental and river-related projects, bringing people and data together to support better outcomes and policies.
Outside of work, he enjoys running, climbing and exploring the outdoors. Kostas is currently supervising a PhD student conducting research on farmers' perceptions towards Nature Based Solutions. He has a particular love for mountains and rivers, often seeking out new places to explore.
