Divya Kumar

Divya is a Volunteer and Engagement Officer at South East Rivers Trust whose work focuses on our Chalk Steams in the City project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Divya is an energetic and enthusiastic facilitator with a passion for nature and a gift for engaging with people of all ages while conveying knowledge and interest through activities, demonstrations, and collaborations. Organising nature connectedness sessions with community groups and schools, co-creation workshops and outreach activities, monitoring interventions, identifying barriers and designing accessible citizen science initiatives is her forte. With a deep interest in drivers of social vulnerability and marginalisation of communities, she strives to decolonise conservation and scientific practices by weaving in eco-feminist ethos into her work culture.

Divya is a wildlife lover, an avid gardener who has created several wildlife habitat niches in her wee garden, including digging up her driveway. In her spare time, you'll find Divya somewhere along the river with her partner, walking, hiking, connecting with nature, hugging trees, petting mosses, and the occasional spontaneous sketch.
