James has a love of all things water, which is reflected in both his career choices as well as how he spends some of his personal time.  He has previously been a lifeguard, and has spent time volunteering with the Enfield Beaver Project working to restore and regenerate the wetlands in this area.

In his free time, he enjoys wild swimming, hiking and playing basketball.
