Design and delivery
We design and deliver solutions to problems our rivers are facing.
Restoring, re-naturalising and reconnecting rivers, removing barriers to fish migration and enhancing habitats.
Our work improves water quality through wetland creation and natural flood management measures to protect communities and surrounding land.

The team at work
-
Wetland creation
Creating a 2000 m2 series of wetlands to divert pollutants, away from the Hogsmill River, a globally rare chalk stream.
-
Weir adjustment
Weirs block fish, fragment habitats, and turn rivers stagnant. Removing or improving them restores natural flow, boosts biodiversity, and creates healthier, more resilient waterways.
-
Woody material installation
Installing nature based solutions to help with natural flood management.

It’s an extremely friendly working environment with open-minded people. There is such a wide range of expertise across colleagues and that makes for great learning opportunities.

If you love the outdoors and rivers, and are concerned by the issues facing them, working for SERT will help you achieve a real sense of job satisfaction. Being able to scope new projects, obtain funding, develop and design the project and then go out deliver the physical works is hugely satisfying and rewarding – and rare to be able to do all of that.”
