Jon Stevens
Catchment Monitoring Officer – Science and PartnershipsJon is the South East Rivers Trust’s Catchment Monitoring Officer. He monitors the water quality and quantity issues facing our catchments and builds data sets that will be used as evidence-based design for current and future nature-based solutions to improve our waterways/environment.
Jon holds an MSc in Freshwater & Marine Ecology and a BSc in Environmental Science. Prior to joining SERT, he worked at an environmental consultancy, delivering monitoring programs for rivers, lakes, groundwater, and ground gases for a diverse client base. He has also volunteered on the pioneering Project Coral at the Horniman Museum Aquarium, collaborating with Dr Jamie Craggs to investigate water quality in coral research systems.
Outside of work, Jon is an avid football fan and a dedicated supporter of Charlton Athletic. He finds inspiration and relaxation in the outdoors, feeling most at home when immersed in nature—especially in and around our rivers.
